Visiting the Fam

Jason has family in Edwardsville, and since we were going up for Madalyn's ear appointment we decided to go up a little early and visit. This is Brooke loving on Madalyn.

And here is Morgan entertaining Maddy just before bedtime. Somehow I missed getting a picture with the oldest Ashley. Sorry about that Ashley. Next time photo opps will be better. The girls just love taking care of Madalyn. Maddy enjoyed meeting them. We had a great visit and thank you Wendy and James for letting us shack up a couple nights.

We had a great weekend. And Madalyn's ear appointment went well. For a short update. When they first did Madalyn's hearing test as a newborn she did not pass on her left ear. Then a month later she still did not pass. So our pediatrician sent us to St. Louis to have her hearing check out by the specialist up there and guess what she still didn't pass. So they referred us to an ear, nose, and throat specialist up there. The doctor came in took one look in Maddy's ear and said "her ear needs to be cleaned out." We put Madalyn in a dentist chair and held her down while the doctor pulled ear wax out of her ear. Which was great news. My gracious no wonder she wasn't passing her tests. It was quite the experience. So we are pretty sure Maddy has much better hearing now, we will go back at six months to have a behavioral test done and hopefully she will pass this time.
