CATS

Tonight we are taking Madalyn to see one of our favorite productions of all time. Cats is playing in Carbondale at the Shyrock Auditorium. The musical holds some sentimental value in Jason and my relationship. Never in a million years would I have dreamed that I would find a husband who would take me to musicals. However, my dreams were wrong because that guy walked right into my life, hung with me for seven years and proposed to be my husband eight years ago today. How crazy!!! (Thank you Jay for all of our wonderful memories together.) Cats was the very first production he took me to see at the Fox Theater in St. Louis and to my surprise he loved it also. It was his favortie, until he saw Lion King. We hope that Madalyn enjoys the show as much as we have and will want to see many more productions in the future. We have luckily been able to prepare her a little for the event tonight. About two days before it was announced that Cats was coming to the area, Jason found a showing of the production on television and recorded it on the DVR. She has been watching it pretty religiously and it tends to keep her attention longer than most shows she is interested in. Unfortunately the show doesn't start until 7:30, which happens to be bedtime for her, however with Veteran's Day tomorrow I figure we all can sleep in and hopefully Madalyn doesn't fall asleep at the show or get scared.
